Matthew South![]() Matt received his training in AI at Bristol University as part of his degree in Engineering Mathematics. After his degree he researched numerical modelling of fluid dynamic stability problems in the University of the West of England's Mathematical and Computer Sciences Faculty. There he received his PhD in Applied Mathematics. After a year's teaching, he joined an internet startup company specialising in workflow systems (intapps.com). Over five years he worked in professional services, R&D, before finally heading the UK development team. After a brief period of consultancy at the Royal Free Hospital Oncology dept., he worked for two years at the UCL & CRUK Cancer Trials Centre. He joined ACL in July 2005 to work on the EU 6th framework ASPIC project (Argumentation Service Platform with Integrated Components). At the conclusion of the ASPIC project he moved to Oxford in October 2007 to lead the software development effort for COSSAC. Links
