Installing and running Tallis

Installing and running Tallis

Tallis is a suite of programmes and libraries written in Java for the authoring and enactment of the PROforma process specification language.

Running Tallis

While it is possible to install Tallis to your machine and run it locally, for ease of use we recommend that you use the following link to start a version of Tallis from your browser:

Tallis 1.5

Assuming you have a working Java runtime environment installed and configured, clicking this link should start the Tallis Composer, which you can use to load, edit and test PROforma files.

If you do want a local installation of Tallis, you will need to register an account on the COSSAC web site, and agree to the licensing terms. The main Tallis site is here, where you can find full documentation on the Tallis suite and PROforma.

Documentation

Your main source of documentation should be the lecture notes, and the main Tallis site here.

Exercises

Files associated with the Tallis exercises can be downloaded here.
